LARRY LOVES FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

Dear Family and Friends,
I think of you often, am so thankful to know you and miss you! I would like to tell you all about my life here in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Since I have met some of you recently, I will start from the very beginning. I was born in Los Angeles in 1963. We went to the Santa Monica Beach often. Below you can see my sister Francine giving me a kiss when I was just a baby. My sisters Denise and Francine used to fight over me and would brag about my big blue eyes and long eyelashes.
In 1985, I moved to Texas to live with Francine at a place called Last Days Ministries and met so many wonderful friends. In fact, just this week, I was thrilled to receive letters from Nell, Roland, Steve D and David Daffin. I have many good memories of my time at LDM.

In 1987, my good friend Del Tucker found a wonderful place for me to live in Arizona called Rainbow Acres. Del and I flew out there to see it and I moved there soon after. From there, I met some angel friends named Bill and Donna O'Brien, who taught me so much and took me to softball games and other fun High School events.

A few years later, I moved in a home where I could be a little more independent. That is the home I live at presently with my house mom, Shirley and my housemate, Rick. I have been working at a place called API where I make tables, benches and picture frames. I get paid there, too.
I have had many fun opportunities with friends. I have a girlfriend named Lori and we go to dances together. Also, I have participated in Special Olympics and have received many 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards. I do best at bowling. My room is filled with awards and certificates of my accomplishments.
This summer, I went to camp and we went fishing, played fun games and went to a camp fire gathering. I may go to camp again next year! I have had such a fun full life here in Arizona! Another accomplishment in my life is that several times I have flown out by myself to visit my sister Francine in New Orleans and my sister Denise in Los Angeles. Once my sister Denise drove me to the Grand Canyon when she came to visit me here. She has come several times because Los Angeles is close to Prescott Valley. Once when Francine came to visit me I taught her how to play several of my electronic games. I beat her every time. Francine is visiting here with me now as I send you this letter and will be visiting again at Thanksgiving.
One of my favorite events of the year is that my sister Denise got married to her childhood sweetheart, Christopher! Their anniversary was this past Valentines Day. Congratulations to Denise and my new brother-in-law, Kit.
Lately, I haven't been feeling well and am writing to ask if you would pray for me. A huge comfort is when I receive letters, cards and photos from friends. It would be so special to hear from you and get a photo of you for my bulletin board at home. Thank you for praying and for being my friend.

Love always,

Larry Weisberg

Note (11 Oct. 2004): Larry is depressed, crying in the hospital and refusing food/liquid for 1-1/2 months. He is being “force fed” through a G tube, which presently is going through his nose. This week, he will have a procedure so that he can be fed through his stomach which will be much more comfortable for him. The only thing that seems to get Larry sitting up and talking is when he receives mail from friends. He reads his letters and cards over and over again and would love to hear from you! Thank you for your fervent prayers for a breakthrough for Larry, wisdom for his doctors and his many caretakers and grace for Larry to eat again. "Even as you have done it unto the least of the brethren, you have done it unto Me."
