Born in Mexico City to a family of five children, Mauricio Palacio displayed an early fascination with discovery and creativity. While attending the College of Architecture at the University of Guadalajara, his eyes were radically opened to a new perspective of life through the love and grace of God in Jesus.

After several years in the architectural profession, he began developing his natural gifts of illustration and graphic design. Leaving his native Mexico in 1991, Mauricio affiliated with Youth With a Mission (YWAM) and Last Days Ministries in Tyler, Texas. He has subsequently traveled to Kona, Hawaii and widely throughout the world teaching with YWAM's University of the Nations in the Colleges of Fine Arts and Communication.

In 1997, his life radically changed while working with refugees in Bosnia with an affiliated YWAM ministry. The subject of reconciliation became a new focus in his artwork. Mauricio has presented several exhibitions to bring awareness of the consequences of ethnic division and intolerance. His experiences in Yugoslavia, Angola, Kenya, and other troubled parts of the world have given him a new direction in his career.

Mauricio believes in the importance of mentoring and imparting truth to younger generations. His international missionary experience continues to open new doors for ministry in Mexico, the U.S. and other parts of the world. Currently, he is involved in art and teaching in churches, schools, and civic groups. His desire is to use his artistic gifts to convey truth and to challenge others to examine their views and beliefs.

Mauricio married Diana Campos of Buenos Aires, Argentina in December 2005. In May 2006 they made their home in Colima, Mexico.
