Green Inkers

This song was written by the girls in the Mail Opening Department (they used green ink pens a lot in their work!) for Bonnie Jaffke & Lyle Veldhuizen. This production was a joint effort by the two LDM departments where Lyle & Bonnie worked, Mail Opening & Operations. The "Green Inkers" and "The Sensational Operationals" pre-recorded this song together in the guy's staff dorm and performed it live at Lyle & Bonnie's wedding shower in the LDM cafeteria/worship center in November 1986. The song was done to the tune of "Green Acres" (recorded & edited by Roland).

Lyrics

Green Inkers is the place to be,

Mail Opening is the life for me,

Mail spreading out so far and wide,

Keep your tractor, just give me that job inside!

Outside is where I'd rather stay,

I go crazy when I sit all day,

I just enjoy the morning dew,

Darlin' I love you, but give me my red Yazoo!

The chores!

The stores!

Fresh air!

The square!  [Tyler square]

You'll be my wife,

Goodbye single life,

East Texas, we are there!

(Repeat)
