Ron & Kimberly Seim

Orange, California

Married Kimberly in October, 1991. Esther Grace was born 6-12-97. We plan to adopt Sarah (age 10) ASAP

Our family enjoys being out in God's creation (ocean, mountains, etc.). We also like to hang around home and read and write.

I finished Bible College in Philadelphia, PA in 1993 and then returned home to California. Subsequently, I met a man that God used to show me many wonderful truths in His Word that I had never known. Though there have been ups and downs over the last seven years, I wouldn't trade them for anything.

In 1996, Kim and I opened up a small Christian school with a vision for it to grow. After our second year, we had our little blessing, Esther Grace. Therefore, because it was best for Kim to be at home, and also because some of the children at our school began to be home-schooled, I decided to close the school and go on to get my state teaching credential. I am not sure if I will be working in the private or public school next year. Right now I am substitute teaching while I am finishing school.

My heart is to do God's will. There is plenty to do right where I'm at, but deep down, I still desire to live communally. I guess the LDM spirit is still strong and active in me. I always think very fondly of the people and memories there. God bless you all.

Tim: Time at LDM: April 1983 ICT - June 1992. After LDM: Attended LeTourneau University in Longview Texas where I obtained a bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and Aviation Technology. After graduating in May of 1996 I have been working with Raytheon Aircraft Integration Systems as an Electrical Engineer. I'll be graduating in May 2001 with a masters degree in Telecommunications from Southern Methodist University. Hobbies: Amateur radio, Flying. Post LDM High point: Getting my private pilot license and flying Lisa and the two oldest boys from Longview, Texas to Houma, Louisiana for a vacation.

Lisa: Time at LDM: Oct 1984 ICT - June 1992. After LDM: Followed Tim to Longview and then Greenville. Full time stay at home mom with 4 children. I do volunteer work for the Greenville Christian School where our two oldest boys are students. Hobbies: Gardening, Crafts. Post LDM High point: Got scared to death as Tim was landing the plane in Louisiana. I thought we were going to fall out of the sky. Also, finally having a little girl after three boys. Though I love my boys, it's nice to have a child that can be dressed frilly.

For my LDM Brothers and Sisters: What a privilege it was to work with such a great group of people doing a work that was changing lives for eternity. Since my time at LDM I've worked as an electrician, aircraft mechanic, and now as an electrical engineer. Of all these jobs the best 'job' I've ever had was during my time at LDM. Only once since leaving LDM did I regret the time I spent there. While I was attending LeTourneau University I was at least 10 years older than most of my fellow students. It struck me that in this post LDM life I was now the old guy trying to play catch-up. Others my age were already well established in their careers and I felt like I had nothing to show for my years at LDM. I had virtually no bank account, no investments, no job promotions, no house, nothing that the world considers valuable.

One night during this low period I decided to pull out the "Memorial Concert" and a "This is LDM" video. What a life changing time I had that night. God clearly reminded me that He was the one who brought me to LDM in 1983. He was the one for whom I had worked, and He was the one who eventually led me on to other things.

So where does that leave me today? Am I just an electrical engineer building spy planes for the government? Have I settled back and become just an ordinary Christian in a secular job? I certainly hope not! While my life today is different, I can say that the mark of LDM is still on me. I hope the lessons learned there will always be a part of my life. There will never again be another LDM, and If I had to do it again I wouldn't change a thing!
